Game Review

In 1925, Carlton had a happy knack of defeating the VFL's new teams in our debut encounters. Happily, that trend continued in Round 12 with a win over Footscray. We had also beaten Hawthorn and North Melbourne in round 4 and round 9 respectively.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 9th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 79.2.

Interesting Fact: This was the first match between Carlton and Footscray
Footnote: Although this was the V.F.L. first meeting between these two clubs, Carlton had first played Footscray in 1886 in the V.F.A. Up until the end of 1896 the Blues had played Footscray 10 times for 5 wins apiece. (See Pre VFL)
