Game Review

Sitting solidly in third place on the ladder, Melbourne were expected to easily account for seventh-placed Carlton, but the the plucky Blues took the game right up to the talented Demons, and led until late into the last quarter. Melbourne's forward pairing of Bob McKenzie (7 goals) and Norm Smith (4 goals) proved to be the difference in the end, as Carlton were valiant in an honourable defeat.
