Game Review

Carlton were missing a host of quality players and short on talent and experience. Scott Camporeale was his usual busy self and Jim Plunkett and Justin Murphy were solid in support but the Blues did not have enough players capable of stamping their authority on the game. Matthew Lappin, Ian Prendergast and Brendan Fevola were useful up forward with 2 goals each.

Game Review

Geelong had the better of an inaccurate Carlton in the first half. The Blues kicked the first 4 goals of the third quarter however to take the lead. It was then goal for goal, the scores level in time on until 2 late goals sealed victory for Carlton.

Brendan Fevola kicked 4 goals, Andrew Merrington kicked 3 and took some good marks, while the opportunistic Ryan Houlihan kicked 2. Brett Ratten, captaining the Blues for the first time, had 25 possessions and was well supported by Darren Hulme.

Game Review

The match was extremely tight for the first 3 quarters, the margin not more than a point, but Richmond over ran an undermanned Carlton with 6 goals to 2 in the final quarter to run out 26 point winners.

Brendan Fevola kicked four goals while Andrew Merrington again impressed with 2. Ian Prendergast was given the job of containing Richardson and kept him to 3 goals. Matthew Lappin, Darren Hulme, Justin Murphy, Anthony Franchina ,Ryan Houlihan and Andrew McKay all battled hard.

The loss put Carlton out of the pre-season Wizard Cup race.

Game Review

Ryan Houlihan was the main scoring option with 3 goals. Scott Camporeale ran tirelessly, while Andrew Eccles turned in his best performance for the Blues since crossing from Adelaide.
