Sinnot was a 'Supp List' player over 2001-2002, and later was a key midfielder for Carlton's VFL Affiliate the Northern Bullants after the AFL moved to replace the Reserves Competition with a newly-merged VFL entity. At the time, Carlton chose to work with the Northern Bullants in the VFL.
