Victorian Football Association
DOB: 1862
DOD:
Career: 1885 - 1886

A player named Urquhart had played with Waverley, a local Carlton club, in 1885.
Amazingly 60 years later, at 9.02AM outside Princes Park Oval, waiting to enter the ground for the 1945 Grand Final, Alexander Urquhart now aged 83 was photographed by The Herald. In an interview with the paper he said he was a life long Carlton supporter and had once played for the Carlton Seconds.

Blueseum didn't have an Urquhart listed, but as Carlton Second Twenty teams are very scarce, with many team squads missing, it is possible he might have played.

However, we had overlooked a Carlton reserves team that played Daylesford at Daylesford on the Queen's Birthday Holiday May 25 1885 and there listed among the 23 man squad is a player named Urquhart!
Alexander would then have been 23 years of age.

Since this was first written, further research has revealed a few more matches Alexander was named in, spanning 1885 and 1886.
