Chas. Cavanagh is named a member taking part in the Carlton Sports Day, October 03. (The Age October 03, p7) (Australasian October 03 p12)
Blueseum is not sure if he was a playing member of the club.

Charlie Cavanagh was a manager of Melbourne's Theatre Royal and he donated the trophy for the 1874 150 Yard Flat race won by Billy Hipe.
Died age approx 35 years in 1876
He also ran Cavanagh's Hotel in Swanson Street where the Carlton team would meet prior playing matches circa 1877
