Team and match details for this year are lacking.
Second Twenty or Reserve grade details are almost non existant.
Dillon may have continued on next year in the newly formed VFL competition, but to date, the Blueseum only has some 20 or so names that played in both VFA and VFL competitions.

1896 August 1
Dillon was named in the 23 man Carlton squad that played Williamstown at the University ground.

1896 August 22
Dillon named in the 26 man Carlton squad that played St.Kilda at the University ground.

1896 September 5
Dillon is named in the 27 man Carlton squad to play North Melbourne at North Melbourne.
This would be Carlton's last game against The Shinboners until North's admittance into the VFL in 1925.

1896 September 12
Dillon is named in the 24 man Carlton squad to play Collingwood at Victoria Park.

1896 September 26
Carlton played Williamstown at Williamstown.
Dillon was named in the 27 man Carlton squad for this game.
This would prove to be the Blues very last game in the VFA and the last time they would play Williamstown.
