Francis Burke was recruited from South Bendigo which is located within Carlton's rich Bendigo Recruiting Zone. He played Reserve Grade football for the Blues in 1986.

He did not manage a Senior game for Carlton.

In 1996 Francis Burke was inducted into the Bendigo FNL Hall of Fame.

Francis Burke (South Bendigo): three-time premiership player with the Bloods, Frank was one of the leading BFL wingmen of his time. Nalder medallist as best afield in South’s winning 1993 grand final side.
