One of the new players for 1883.
Recruited via Star of Carlton where he played 1872 - 79
Played in approx 16 games.

1883 Elliott was one of the nine players who resigned from Carlton over the club suspending Barrass amd Whelan for misconduct on the club visit to Maryborough on August 18th.

1884
Players "lost" to the new Fitzroy Football Club were Elliot and 'Abe' Shearwood.

Along with the Camerons who were the group of Carlton players that helped form the Fitzroy club.

1884 May 3
Elliott, Shearwood and J. Cameron played for Fitzroy in the match against Williamstown at Williamstown.

The Albany Advertiser (W.A.) reported that two of Fitzroy's original committeemen of 1884, 'Abe' Shearwood and Jack Elliot still going strong and attended all matches.

The oldest former player was a Jack Elliott who played in the very first Fitzroy team in 1884.
