L. Langley

1895 Langley played in the match against North Melbourne at the M.C.G. on July 06.
The game was headed for a draw when seconds before the final bell, the ball fell into Langley's hands.
He took his kick after the bell, and from 40 yards punted the ball through for the winning goal.
Carlton won 2.2 - 1.9 - goals only counted until the 1897 season.
Langley was named in the 25 man Carlton squad to play Port Melbourne at Port the following week.
Many Carlton teams were not published in 1895 and match reports are very brief.
He appears in the 27 man squad that played St. Kilda at St. Kilda, August 10

Herald 12 July p3 1895;
"Melville, Carlton's new man, showed up fairly well last Saturday, and also Langley who, on the strength of his good kicking, must be given another trial."
