NB. Please note that Beaumont continued his run at new club, Hawthorn.

As at July 2012, seven senior Blues had played over a hundred consecutive League games for the club. (Carlton games only).

Kade Simpson now has the record at 158 matches from Round 15, 2005 to Round 15, 2012. Kade played three games in his first season (2003) another three in 2004, and 6 games in 2005 prior to round 15, when he started his record-breaking run.

Jim Francis is second, with 142 games over seven seasons from Round 6, 1935 to Round 16, 1942. Jim missed only one match in his first 155 appearances - that being round 5, 1935 against St Kilda.

Simon Beaumont is third. He played his last 133 Carlton games uninterrupted over five seasons from round 8, 1998 to round 22, 2003 (he also added his first 11 senior games at Hawthorn, before being ruled out of round 12, 2004 against Carlton).

Carlton Legend Bruce Doull played 107 games straight from round 16, 1971 to round 13, 1976, and another 86 consecutive between round 6, 1980 and round 17, 1983.

David McKay played 105 games from round 1, 1970 to round 7, 1974, and another 47 consecutive from round 2, 1975 to the 1976 Preliminary Final.

Andrew McKay managed 104 games in a row from round 13, 1998 to round 19, 2002. He also played another 48 consecutive from round 2, 1994 to the 1995 Grand Final.

Anthony Koutoufides made it to 103 games straight from round 12, 1994 to round 18, 1998, and had played another 44 consecutive matches before he broke his hand against West Coast in round 11, 2006.

The following three Blues would have appeared higher on this auspicious list, had their progress not been interrupted by playing for interstate football for Victoria when Carlton was playing League matches on the same day:

- Bruce Doull, who played 160 games for Carlton between round 16, 1971 and round 12, 1978 indispersed with two games for Victoria on the same day as round 4, 1976 and round 13, 1977.

- John Nicholls, who played 121 Carlton games between round 14, 1967 and round 1, 1973 indispersed with 4 games for Victoria (he missed round 12, 1968, round 10, 1969, round 16, 1971 and round 12, 1972).

- Geoff Southby didn't miss any of his first 54 games for Carlton between round 1, 1971 and round 9, 1973, apart from when he was at full-back for the Big V on the same day as round 16, 1971, round 12, 1972 and round 6, 1973.

# Note that if State games were included - which they are not - Bruce Doull would have the record with 160 consecutive games. For more detail on this quirk, please click here....
