Game Review

Despite a slow start, the Blues would bounce out of the blocks in the second to crush the Hawks and overall, double their score.

The football world came to see the new goal-scoring machine from Tasmania in Peter Hudson make his debut for Hawthorn, but Carlton sprung its own surprise by unveiling their own new full forward in 16 years, 275 days old Robert Walls.

Footnote

I was at this match and remember seeing a pale, skinny kid only a few months older than myself. Robert Walls was a very brave 16yo playing against men. Huddo also debuted and played on "rugged" Wes Lofts, he kicked 4 goals, Wes would not have been happy about that!
