Newly found, Beary's obituary in The Advocate 4 December 1941 (p14), said he was 'a dashing half-back for Carlton' and a Vice President. He worked for the Victorian Railways as a Safe Working Officer. He was called upon by the Court to give his expert opinion at accidental rail death inquests.

He may have been a Second Twenty or Reserves player, of which details in the 1880's is incomplete.
If anyone can shed some light on Beary's football career, his involvement at Carlton, or an image, please contact Blueseum. ( www.blueseum.org )
