Brendan Robertson was taken by the Blues with its fourth and final pick in the 1990 Pre-Season Draft. Robertson was recruited from the Sydney Swans, they had intended to re-draft him but the Blues got under their guard. He was still living in Sydney at the time of his drafting. He was also an All-Australian Teal Cup player in 1988.


He did not manage a senior game for Carlton.
