Charles Edward Maplestone of 146 Park St. Parkville, late of the M.M.B.W. passed away on the 12th November, 1937 aged 61.

An old Carlton players carnival was organised at Princes Park and an after match function was held in the newly built Robert Heatley Stand.
Charlie Maplestone was quoted in Monday's Age report (p6);
"Mr. Maplestone recalled when he was playing for Carlton, nearly thirty years ago, there was no financial reward, and players at times had to pay their own train and tram fares."
