Fevola's Exile, July 2007

On Monday July 2, 2007, and in the wash-up to the Round 13 clash versus the Dockers, Carlton announced that Brendan Fevola had been told to 'stay away for a week' after a series of on-field indiscretions.

"He's been told to go away and have a think about his role at the club, his role in the team and we'll touch base with him again next week on this issue"
Greg Swann, 2 July 2007

"It was a whole host of issues and we need him to conform to our team requirements and Brendan knows that"
Denis Pagan, 2 July 2007

"The Club has bent over backwards to support him in a number of issues. This wasn't on Saturday's game (alone), we just need him to confirm to the team requirements"
Denis Pagan, 2 July 2007

"I'm contracted next year and I'll be there next year, and I'm looking forward to playing out the last eight weeks."
Brendan Fevola, 6 July 2007

"When you get something that you love taken away, (you are) pretty keen to get back and play footy, so (I am) looking forward to playing in Sydney this week. It should be good," he said.
Brendan Fevola, 9 July 2007

Fevola returned to the Blues side after a week off, kicking 2 goals 4 against the Swans in a 62 point loss at the SCG.
