Game Review

The first of 6 successive wins which would see the Blues cement a finals position.

Jack Wrout made his debut with the Blues after a mid-season player swap with the Shinboners. Carlton sent a youngster in Alan Crawford to North, an exchange which ended up being win-win. As Carlton had cleared Mocha Johnson to South only 3 weeks earlier it appears clubs were not averse to swapping or dispensing with players as they saw fit.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 5th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 125.4.

Best Player Trophy

Jim Francis was judged the best and fairest Carlton player in the match and was awarded a special trophy.

Carlton Reunion

At half time the committee entertained 100 past players dating back to season 1878.

Carlton Club Picnic

"Yesterday the Carlton officials, players and supporters took part in a hamper picnic at Park Orchards.
A programme of sports, goal kicking competitions, &c, was held, and in the evening dancing was indulged in. About 100 persons made the trip, and an enjoyable time was spent."
