Game ReviewMost commentators viewed this game as a Grand Final preview, and it lived up to expectations.
In a hard, skilful contest from the first bounce, the Blues forged to a three-goal break at the last change. But Richmond came roaring back, and got up by a solitary point in the last few minutes. The Tigers didn't regain top place however, because Melbourne's big win over South Melbourne boosted the Demons' percentage, and the top four after this round was Melbourne, Richmond, Essendon and Carlton.
At the end of this round Carlton were in 4th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 113.1.
