2007 finals link

Someone has wishful thinking setting up a link for finals in 2007. I think we'll worry about that if & when it happens! Even the club are virtually saying we wonl't make the finals until 2009!

When I set up the 2007 year I put 'Finals?' in on the Links section, but it wasnt a link, just a word. Not really an issue, surely?

There is no need for you to have edited that. There was no page set-up, no link, just a spot for 'Finals'? that may or may not happen - it is in the future and anything can happen.

There is no need to edit the work of others unless you know it is factually wrong.

At this stage we cannot say we will play finals. If you're so certain we will undo it. If we do I'll be happy to put it back. You don't need to take everything so seriously!

Of course we cannot say that - the line was a simple, nice touch without a link at the end of the 2007 page setup. It didn't say we will play finals.

I do not appreciate you making changes to things that I have done that are neither here nor there. I don't do it to your work, do I? Surely after the past few weeks you realise how frustrating that is when someone changes something for no apparent reason? What you may like and what others may like could be very different and I would ask, again, that you stop changing things.

Please respect that and I promise to lighten up.

It was placed here for discussion and I explained I didn't think it was a good idea to be talking about making the finals in 2007. I thought the club has said 10th is about as good as we can expect. It's not as though I did it without telling anyone. Did anyone tell me about changing hours of my work on teams? You've made your feelings clear so we'll leave it up to you to decide. In future I'll remember to never touch anything you've done.

Well I know I have also had many hours of work that has either been redone by others or I have redone it myself. We are all in the same boat in that respect.

It's a community project where editing is a part of business. Sometimes you just have to check your ego in at the door.

Personally I would like to see the focus more on adding content and the greater picture of the entire project than arguing over finer points at this stage when so much still needs to be done.

Thanks for keeping it all civil as well, hopefully it stays that way otherwise I'll have to get Mrs Caz in here to rough you boys up! :p

BlueWorld there is no need to be like this. Between you, me, Jarusa and Willow, we've probably done 90% of this site, and a little respect is all that is needed.

You of all people should know how frustrating it is when others seek to re-do your work, weaken it - or even worse - just change it for the sake of it. I really do empathise with the teams changes you've had to fix up / work with over the past month - its just a huge waste of time that would have been solved by a 1-hour phonecall beforehand.

In this case, which is very minor (ridiculously) but just the latest example of many, you raised a minor issue, I said 'surely you have no problem with this' and then you changed it anyway. I disagree with some of your game comments but I don't see the need to edit them, or start debates over them. I think its enough that we are building something huge here and the bigger we get it, the better for the Club. There is thinking behind your game summaries, as there is behind my work. Isn't that enough?

As you have noticed, I just don't see the purpose of changing items already in the site unless they are wrong, or the formatting incorrect. There is still 1000's of hours of work ahead of us and I have about 10 tasks to get on to after completing the Debuts section (3-4 months work already).

I hope we can put this in the past and just get on with augmenting the site.

I changed it 6 days before you decided to (over) react. You had plenty of time to do something about it if you felt so strongly. It's a pity we don't have emoticons here- maybe that would have made it clearer to you that it was not a big deal.

I have no problem with my work being changed for the sake of greater accuracy. I have often changed other people's work where I believe it to be inaccurate, based on published work. I also prefer to not see negativity and may have changed other people's work to make it less negative. I have no problem with my teams being changed to the way they actually lined up. It's just disappointiing that I was never informed that he had info on all team line ups, especially after I questioned why his GF line ups differed from the published line ups quite some time ago but never received an explanation. Had I known that I wouldn't have wasted all that time on the teams and concentrated on other things. But I have no problem with my work being changed if it is inaccurate.

I do not know what game comments you disagree with. You did ask me to do them. I would hardly consider myself an authority on game summaries. They are nothing more than summaries of the games and I generally avoid opinions or judgements (as you should know) so I don't know why you would take issue with them. Anyone else who wishes to contribute is most welcome but I haven't seen anyone else rushing to do that.

Yes it would be nice if we could all get along and not worry about minor things. I'm sure the main priority for all of us is to improve the site.

Again, no need to be like that. What you call an over-reaction I call a normal response to your continual changes of things that do not need changing.

I don't know how we're going to resolve this so will just leave things be until you change other things that I put in or liked about the site. At that stage, if it occurs, I will raise them with you.

As for the game comments, I really do appreciate you putting them in. My comment was that I dont agree with everything you put in them, but that doesn't mean I should rewrite them. To me, they are well written but sometimes don't tell the full story. As you know though, 100 different Carlton fans will have 100 different stories about each game.

If you feel they don't tell the full story, you're welcome to add whatever you feel is missing, as long as it's not overly negative or singling out individuals for blame!

I changed one word... enough is enough!

Oh dear... this is not about your game reviews. This is not about one word! Its about constant changes to suit your view of the world. I can't explain it any simpler so let's just leave it. We're clearly not going to see eye to eye.

Well this is starting to go in circles a bit, seems like everyone has had their say so it is time for a bit of history, the Blueseum's first locked thread!

If anyone wants it unlocked send me a PM and if the reason is good enough it can be unlocked.
