Game Review

Carlton were beginning to show a return to 1947 form. This, a third successive win, was achieved with three quarters of brilliant football. Only in the 2nd stanza did the Cats look capable of troubling the Blues.

After half-time, to borrow a despised term, it was a "cake-walk".

Jack Howell scored 8 goals in this match but missed the next game along with Bert Deacon when they were required for state duty.
