Game Review

Johnny James had the honour of leading the team onto the ground followed by 100 gamer Sergio Silvagni, then skipper John Nicholls.
The Blues were in trouble at three-quarter time in this home match against the Bulldogs, but unleashed a barn-storming last quarter in which we kicked 8.1 to only two majors by the Dogs, and ran out winners by 32 points. This good win lifted Carlton to sixth on the ladder and dropped Footscray to ninth, but the day was tinged with sadness for every Bluebagger because afterwards, we bid farewell to Brownlow Medallist John James and reliable full-forward Tom Carroll.

After half time Serge Silvagni was replaced at full forward by Tom 'Turkey' Carroll.
Carroll and half forward Berkley Cox each kicked three goals. The Blues kicked seven goals straight in the last term cutting the Dog's defence to ribbons.
