Game Review
This was yet another close shave for the Blues, who couldn't shake off a persistant Richmond on their home turf, and only just got home in captain John Nicholls' 100th game.
Unbeaten top side, Carlton had to fight furiously to hold off a strong challenge from 10th side Richmond. The Tigers trailed by seven points at the last change and failed by only two points in downing the League leaders. - Football Record.
A thorn-in-the side for future Carlton teams, Bill Barrot was named best on the ground in The Age.
