Biography

Referred to in differing records as Dick Frost, Robert Percival Bodley Frost, and Jack Frost, Carlton’s only player with this very cool surname appeared four times for the Blues in our first VFL season and was actually born Robert William Frost. Frost was born on December 29, 1870 at Eglington Creek, near Alexandra to Charles and Sarah (nee Fisk) and he died on July 8, 1935 aged 64 in New South Wales.

1896 CFC Annual Report, Richard 'Dick' Frost scored 2 goals during the season.
Frost's name first appears on May 2 in the match against Ballarat Imperials at Saxon Field, Ballarat. (He was 25 years, 124 days.)
This was round one of the season, in which Carlton had the bye and played the Ballarat side. The Blues lost.
Frost is mentioned in five games this year. He could have played in all eighteen matches, but the records so far, are incomplete.
The following week May 9, Frost debuted for Carlton in the side against Essendon at the East Melbourne Cricket Ground.
This match was a disaster for the club as the Blues failed to score a goal and were thrashed 0.7- 10.17.
Frost was mentioned as among the best of the new players.

1896 J. Frost elected onto the Carlton Committee at the AGM on March 31.

1897 He was aged 26 on debut, and came to us from North Williamstown Juniors and also played with Carlton in the VFA.
