1888 CFC Annual Report, Steel scored 3 goals in the Reserves.

1888 - 1889 December 05 and January 05
The visiting US Baseballers on their World Tour requested to see an Australian Football match. Two shortened matches were arranged between Carlton and St. Kilda and Port Melbourne.
Steele was named in both squads and he scored a goal in the first match against St.KIlda.

1889 At the Carlton AGM on April 5, Carlton Reserves/Second Twenty player A. Steel was presented with a gold locket for excellent play.
