Arthur was a player and also St.Kilda's hon. secretary and treasurer. He was also the club's VFA delelgate. Arthur accompanied Carlton as the VFA's representative on the Blues' trip to Tasmania in 1888

Stooke was called into the Carlton team as a substitute when the Blues were a player short in a match against South Ballarat on the town's Eastern Oval.
He received rousing applause from the crowd of 6,000, or so, when he appeared on the field.
"Artie" had played senior football for the Saints in 1887 and again in 1891, for a total of 3 games and 1 goal.
There was a Stooke playing for South Yarra in 1883.
Blueseum believes he was born in 1863
In 1890 his place of residence was in Glenferrie Road Hawthorn.
In 2020 Leski's Auctions in High Street Armadale Vic. were selling some of Arthur's memorabilia.
