After 19 years working for the Carlton Football Club, last Friday was Colin Kinnear’s final day at the office.

Colin has made an outstanding contribution to the Carlton Football Club in his 19-year involvement. This involvement commenced in 1984 when he was the reserves coach and assistant coach of the Carlton Football Club for five years. During this period the reserves won two premierships (1986 & 1987) and the seniors also won a premiership in 1987.

Between 1989 and 1991 Colin moved to Sydney where he was the senior coach of the Sydney Swans.

He returned to Carlton in November 1991 when he was appointed the Chairman of the Match Committee, a position he continued in until the end of the 1996 season. In 1995 and 1996 Colin held the joint positions of Chairman of the Match Committee and Football Manager. The highlight of this period was the 1995 Premiership.

Between 1997 and 2003 Colin was the General Manager – Football Operations and in 2004 he commenced in his role as General Manager – Special Projects.

In addition to his role at the Carlton Football Club, Colin was also involved with the Carlton Cricket Club playing for 20 years progressing from Schoolboy XI to the First XI, including four senior premierships.

Colin’s contribution to both the Carlton Football and Carlton Cricket Clubs has been recognized by his induction as a Life Member of both Clubs.

The Grand Final Eve Luncheon on Friday was Colin’s last day with Carlton, bringing a close to his 19-year official association with the Carlton Football Club.
