Edward 'Ted' Rippon played reserve grade football for Carlton in 1939 and 1941.

Rippon also played with Essendon from 1933 to 1939 where he played 69 games and booted 12 goals. He later played with St Kilda from 1944 to 1945 where he played 17 games for 19 goals.

He didn't manage to play a senior game for Carlton.

Constable E. Rippon of the Wireless Patrol, and well known as an Essendon and Carlton footballer appeared in the Melton Court for booking a speeding motorist. (Melton Express April 27 p3 1940)
Later he was a football commentator for Radio 3AW and on Channel 7 TV's World of Sport.
