Garry Williams was a local boy from West Brunswick, he came up through the U/19's (1978 to 1981) to later play Reserve Grade Football from 1981 to 1982 for the Blues. Williams was a fiery, blonde on-baller/forward who liked to kick a goal. He fronted the tribunal on a couple occassions at U/19's and Reserves Grade levels.

He was also a member of the U/19's 1979 premiership which was under the guidance of former Carlton premiership winger Bryan Quirk.

He did not manage a Senior game for Carlton.
