The International Rookie provisions allow AFL Clubs to recruit from 'outside the net' - players not brought up with the game can be placed on the Rookie List and given additional time. The Blues have picked up a few International Rookies from their day:
2024: Rob Monahan, (note; the Blues also were about to sign fellow Irish rooike Matt Duffy but he did his ACL playing Gaelic footy between seasons, therefore this did not eventuate).
