Jimmy Lewis.

1877. As a goal sneak is very quick, and difficult to hold.

1878. Lewis is mentioned as a goal scorer (1 goal) for the 1878 Reserves season.

1879. Reserves; Good dodger, and capital screw kick.
(The Footballer 1879. p29)

1880 August 28
Carlton played West Melbourne at Princes Oval.
Wests were a player short and Carlton loaned them a player for the game.
West Melbourne only scored one goal during the match and that was kicked by the Carlton player.
The player loaned was Lewis.
Could be J. Lewis or A. Lewis who both played for the Blues in the same era.

1889 August 17
Jimmy Lewis played for the Blues in an ex players match against former Pivotonians at Geelong to raise funds for the local hospital.

1917 April 30
Three men are retiring from the Lands Department today, one of the three is Mr. J. J. Lewis a draughtsman. Lewis has worked for the Lands Department for 43 years and was a well known player for the Carlton Football Club. (Herald p1)
