Game Review
Carlton's fifth loss of the year came at the hands of Hawthorn at Glenferrie Oval. The Hawks' tough and effective full-forward John Peck was the difference between the two sides, kicking five goals from limited opportunities.Carlton's spearhead, Tom Carroll, was well-held by Hawthorn's Sted Hay. He kicked only one major to take his total for the season so far to 24.
The Blues slipped down the ladder to ninth, but remarkably, stayed well in contention for a finals berth - trailing fourth-placed Geelong by only 2 points.
