Game Review
Carlton kicked the first 3 goals of the match. The vastly improved Adelaide under new Coach Neil Craig then took control but couldn't convert. The game then became as tight a game as possible as Denis Pagan utilised the flood - matching the Crows - to really tighten the match up. This tactic was to become more & more used in the competition over 2005, and particularly 2006.Carlton would threaten, but not be good enough to take the team that would finish first on the ladder at the end of the season. Brendan Fevola provided a focal point up forward with 4 goals. Nick Stevens with 31 possessions and Scott Camporeale with 27 provided plenty of midfield run. Andrew Walker was given the job on the dangerous McLeod and minimised his influence.
