Game Review
Fifth-placed Geelong almost caused an upset when they stormed home in the last quarter of this game, booting 7.5 to 1.1 by the Blues. But it wasn't quite enough, and Carlton held on to win by one straight kick. Soapy Vallence starred again for the Blues, with 6 majors. At the end of this round Carlton were in 1st spot on the ladder with a percentage of 125.8.
Blues' champion Harry Vallence pushed in the back? by Joe Sellwood (Geelong), Carlton's Kevin Fox leaping at the rear. (Trove; Sun-News July 04 p44)
