Game Review
Carlton won their second match in a row by a whopping 57 points at home. The old adage 'bad kicking is bad football' is proved timeless yet again, with Fitzroy actually having more scoring shots than the Blues yet going down by 10 goals.Carlton were third on the ladder behind the undefeated Melbourne and Essendon.
In the final quarter the mercurial Keith Warburton snapped an over the shoulder kick to score his fourth goal.
Carlton coach Perc Bentley
"Our all-round strength and ability to exploit the open spaces of our ground were the winning factors. We also did better in most key positions; we were a lot more accurate, and our half forwards combined well with O'Brien. They gave him plenty of opportunites, and he made full use of them. The result was really pleasing, and showed we have recaptured that 'spark' we had lot in the game against Hawthorn."Best
