Game Review

Collingwood's brilliant first quarter against the Blues was the best opening football they have produced for a long time. The Magpies played to a pattern, won in the air, and were much faster to the ball than their opponents. The Blues once again played without apparent purpose and rallied in the last quarter only when the Magpies eased up. Throughout the game Collingwood were completely in charge and the Blues were never threatening. - Football Record.

This fourth loss in five matches condemned the Blues to 11th place on the ladder - already out of finals contention, and sitting above only the winless Fitzroy.
