Game ReviewThis third narrow loss in four matches was doubly-costly for Carlton. Bad kicking is bad football, and despite having four more scoring shots than Hawthorn, the Blues were beaten by six points at Glenferrie. The Hawks' rugged full-forward John Peck was the difference between the teams, and kicked six goals.
Meanwhile, at Windy Hill, St Kilda caused a huge upset by beating ladder-leaders Essendon, and the Saints tipped the faltering Blues out of the top four.
