Game Review

A rollicking opening by keeping Richmond scoreless allowed the Blues to get out to an early lead, one that was never headed.

"Richmond were being pulverised by Carlton over the way. Seventeen goals, 17 behinds. That was a profitable haul, and when we go in for a little arithmetic we find that the basket yielded 119 points. By the way, I was nearly forgetting. Richmond scored what the bookmaker's clerk called "arfa 'undred "—7 goals 8 behinds."

Norman Ciark played a tip-top game for the dark blues against Richmond, his powerful dashes from the back lines being irresistible. George Bruce played
very well on one wing, and Tom Clancy held his own on the other side of the ground.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 4th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 147.8.
