Game Review

Carlton had five more scoring shots than the Magpies in this bitterly-disappointing defeat by Collingwood at Princes Park - particularly as it was 'Soapy' Vallence's 200th match for the Blues. The top four teams after this round were Carlton, Footscray, Geelong and Richmond. Collingwood and Melbourne were next, outside the four by percentage only.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 1st spot on the ladder with a percentage of 118.3.

Milestones

200 Games: Harry Vallence
Interesting Fact: Vallence became the first Blue to play 200 games without a Flag, and would only be partnered some 70 years later when Lance Whitnall would join him in this Club. Alas, glory for Vallence was just around the corner...
Last Game: Gordon Crisp
