W. Grey is named in the Carlton team list for 1865 in Mark Pennings' book "Origins of Australian Football."

1870 July 17
Grey was named in The Argus as one of Carlton's best players in the match against South Yarra at Fawkner Park. Carlton won 4-0.

1871 April 27
Grey is elected onto the committee at the Carlton AGM.

1871 July 15
Grey played in the side that played a Richmond 20 at Richmond Park.

Grey named in team to play St.Kilda at the St.Kilda ground.
