Wearing guernsey #5, Huntington played 3 games for Carlton after debuting in 1950. Bill Huntington is the son of George Huntington, who did not play VFL football but had three brothers who played.
Huntington had two uncles (Jack and Stan) who ironically played 3 senior games like him but with Melbourne. Former Collingwood player Les Huntington who played 4 games for the Pies during the 1914 season is yet another Uncle.
At the end of the 1951 season Huntington headed off to VFA club Preston.
Huntington was recruited from Coburg Juniors via Merlynston/Coburg High School.
Bill Huntington died on December 18, 2013 aged 84 years old.

Footnote
Argus 30 March (22) 1950; "Bill Huntington, a member of the Coburg sporting family, is high up on the list of Carlton's recruits. He is a centre half-back who will be closely watched in the practice game on Saturday. He is tall enough for the job, but might lack a little weight. He moves like a real player, uses either foot, and is really excellent material."
The Argus June 25 (p7) 1952; "Bill Huntington's application for clearance to Preston has been approved by the match committee."
There is a G. Huntington named in the 1955 U/19 team photo, a relation?
