"The fall which Bowen, the Carlton footballer, received in the third quarter of the Fitzroy and Carlton match on Saturday proved more serious than was first thought. On Saturday Bowen had taken to his bed, and two doctors were summoned. It was found that he was suffering from a lacerated kidney.
