Paul Koutoufides was recruited from the Blues local zone club Lalor / East Thomastown, he was the older brother of Blues champion Anthony Koutoufides. Koutoufides played a few seasons in the Carlton U/19's, he also managed to play one Reserves game for the Blues, it was Round 22 1990.
He was released by the Blues at the end of 1990 and headed to VFA club Preston for the 1991 season, injuries would curtail his playing days and he would retire early and focus on his blossoming work career.
He did not manage a senior game for Carlton.
