Game Review
Coming into this last game of the home and away season, the Blues were sitting in second place on the ladder by percentage to Collingwood, but knew they had a real chance of pinching the minor premiership with a big win over the struggling Bulldogs at Princes Park. As it turned out, Carlton should have snatched that honour from under the Magpies' noses, but wayward kicking for goal - 32 scoring shots to 11 by Footscray - proved costly, and Collingwood retained their top of the table honours by only 3%.
At the end of this round Carlton were in 2nd spot on the ladder with a percentage of 141.6.
