Frederick Hadkinson Bromley MLA
He came to Australia in 1877, and became active in the trade union movement in the 1880's. Became his union's representative on the Trades Hall Council in 1883 and by 1885 he was elected president of T.H.C.
He was a trustee of the Public Library, Museums and Art Gallery. He opposed religion in education, and supported the extension of the state school system into seconday education. His work with the Carlton Refuge was well known.
A member of the Victorian Parliament, he represented Carlton South, May 1892 - September 1908.
