Game Review
A scoreless second term proved costly for the Blues in this clash with ladder leaders Geelong at Princes Park. Although it was an honourable loss, we were suddenly two wins out of the four.Geelong were on top for the first three quarters. The only winner the Blues had was McKaige, who overcame two opponents. Keith Warburton (returning from a cartilage injury) broke even with his opponent. Jack Howell at full-forward fumbled badly and missed many easy shots at goal. Rovers Mills and Spencer were responsible for Carlton adding 4 quick goals late in the third term. The Blues carried this momentum into the final term and held Geelong to 3 points while adding 3.8. Carlton got within 2 goals with 10 minutes remaining, but the Cats steadied and maintained possession until the end of the game.
Warburton replaced Chick (sprained ankle) in selected side.

Geelong has now won it's last 20 matches and is level with the record established by Collingwood in 1928-1929. Geelong has been unbeaten for 23 matches, but drew with Essendon 21 matches ago."
