Game Review

With 'Wacko Jacko' (Mark Jackson) rampant at full forward, Geelong's skill and aggression proved too much for the complacent Blues. Jackson kicked 6 goals, and Carlton toppled from the top of the ladder to third.

The Cats were having their usual run of wins at the start of the season, and were sitting on top of the ladder on percentage. The Cats added nine goals to seven in a sparkling second quarter to set up their victory. Mark Jackson kicked six, and John Mossop starred in the ruck for the Cats, the downside for the Cats was Gary Ablett being reported and subsequently suspended 3 weeks. Wayne Johnston and Spiro Kourkoumelis were best for the Blues in this tussle. - Football Record.
