Raymond Sayer "Ray" Ritchie, who was born in Rutherglen, would play his only game at VFL level for Carlton in Season 1909, a win over St Kilda. He was recruited from Korumburra.

After Carlton Ray played for Woomelang, and was a member of the local fire brigade. He later became captain of the Kyneton FB and is buried with his wife at the Kyneton cemetery after passing away in April 1950.
