After an even first quarter the Blues slammed on 6 goals in six minutes towards the end of the second term to put the game out of Fitzroy's reach. They played premiership football with effective handball and position kicking.Alex Jesaulenko with a bruised shoulder was replaced by Ricky McLean during the third quarter after he had scored 6 goals.
