Game Review
Continuing their mid-season resurgence, Carlton travelled to Glenferrie Oval on a bleak winter afternoon, and defeated the Hawks by 17 points. Only 14,000 hardy souls stood on the terraces in driving rain, to witness the final game of the Blues’ dual Premiership wingman Doug Williams, and journeyman ruckman Ken Aitken. On the back of this, their third successive win, Carlton stepped up to fifth on the ladder behind Geelong, Fitzroy, Collingwood and Essendon. The Bombers had won one more game than the Blues, but their percentage was almost 10% less.
