Game Review

Carlton finished off the year with another narrow defeat by Essendon in the last of the Sectional matches. Five points down at three-quarter time, the Blues put in a spirited bid for victory, but their last term score of 1.5 to 2.0 fell short by just one goal. Fred Webber continued his impressive efforts up forward, with another three majors.

Overall, the Blues had never really been a finals contender in Jack Worrall’s first season, but there had been improvement in many aspects of the team’s preparation. While there was still a large mountain to climb, the first steps had been taken as the Blues finished sixth on the ladder with a percentage of 77.1.
